Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions for adults in a psychiatric program
- Develop clear, individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress
- Provide individual and group therapy tailored to forensic and psychiatric populations
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- Document clinical encounters, assessments and plans accurately in the medical record
- Participate in case consultation, clinical supervision and program development to enhance care quality
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology strongly preferred
- Active California Psychologist license preferred or eligibility to obtain licensure in California
- Experience working with psychiatric or forensic populations preferred
- Proven skills in individual and group therapy, assessment, and treatment planning
- Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, plus the ability to work in a secure facility
Education
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology; California licensure preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and diagnostic formulation
- Evidence-based treatment modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care)
- Crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Forensic/psychiatric population knowledge and appropriate behavioral management
- Clear, professional documentation and report-writing
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and case coordination
