Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based psychological assessments and individual therapy for the incarcerated population
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans that improve mental health outcomes
- Lead group therapy and psychoeducational sessions to build coping skills and resilience
- Collaborate with custody, medical, and behavioral health teams to coordinate care
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation and treatment records
- Contribute to a safe, professional environment by following facility protocols and participating in orientation and trainings
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist in California OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
- Active, unrestricted California license preferred or eligibility to obtain a CA license
- Experience in mental health settings; correctional or forensic experience is a strong plus
- Comfort working within institutional protocols and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong documentation skills and commitment to ethical practice
Education
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) typical for Psychologist roles; Master's degree required for LMFT or LPCC
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Familiarity with evidence-based therapies such as CBT and trauma-informed approaches
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and team collaboration
- Ability to maintain clinical boundaries and safety in a correctional environment
- Time management and organizational skills to manage caseload and documentation
