Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions to improve daily living, functional mobility, and independence
- Document progress clearly and timely, communicating outcomes and plan adjustments with the care team
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, holistic care
- Educate patients and caregivers with practical strategies to improve function and reduce barriers at home and in the community
- Adapt interventions for a float assignment across locations within the facility as needed
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR or equivalent) in Maryland or ability to obtain state licensure
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Active OT registration from NBCOT preferred
- Prior experience in inpatient or post-acute care preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills are welcome to apply
- Professional, empathetic communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team
- Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent accredited degree)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessment and treatment planning for activities of daily living and adaptive equipment
- Proficient with documentation standards and electronic medical records
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving for complex patients
- Ability to provide safe transfers and mobility training
- Knowledge of assistive technology and home modification principles
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and caregiver education
