Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care and rehab services
• Implement individualized treatment plans and document patient progress accurately
• Support patient mobility, therapeutic exercises, and functional training to drive meaningful outcomes
• Communicate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
• Maintain treatment areas and equipment to ensure safety and infection control
• Float between Alameda and Park Bridge sites as needed to meet patient care demands

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant credential (PTA) — state licensure as required for practice in California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated experience as a PTA in acute, subacute, or outpatient rehab settings preferred
• Strong communication, documentation, and patient-education skills
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility tasks

Education

• Associate degree or diploma in Physical Therapist Assistant (or equivalent accredited program)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of therapeutic exercise, gait training, and modalities commonly used in rehab
• Skilled in patient assessment, progression of interventions, and outcome documentation
• Comfortable working in both inpatient and outpatient settings and adapting treatment plans
• Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time efficiently while floating between sites
