Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care and rehab services
- Implement individualized treatment plans and document patient progress accurately
- Support patient mobility, therapeutic exercises, and functional training to drive meaningful outcomes
- Communicate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
- Maintain treatment areas and equipment to ensure safety and infection control
- Float between Alameda and Park Bridge sites as needed to meet patient care demands
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant credential (PTA) — state licensure as required for practice in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated experience as a PTA in acute, subacute, or outpatient rehab settings preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and patient-education skills
- Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility tasks
Education
- Associate degree or diploma in Physical Therapist Assistant (or equivalent accredited program)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of therapeutic exercise, gait training, and modalities commonly used in rehab
- Skilled in patient assessment, progression of interventions, and outcome documentation
- Comfortable working in both inpatient and outpatient settings and adapting treatment plans
- Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
- Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time efficiently while floating between sites
