Shift Type: Sunday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Day (Variable schedule with high need on Saturday & Sunday; minimum 10-hour shifts often 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM)

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and formulate individualized treatment plans
- Provide medication management and evidence-based psychiatric interventions
- Deliver crisis intervention and stabilization when patients present with acute needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary mental health and custody staff to coordinate care
- Document clinical encounters accurately and timely to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in treatment planning meetings and consult on complex cases
- Model professional, ethical behavior and contribute to a safe therapeutic environment
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with completion of a Psychiatry residency
- Active California medical license or ability to obtain licensure in California
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry is preferred
- Experience or strong interest in correctional or forensic psychiatry preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or willingness to obtain
- Excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a structured institutional setting
Education
- MD or DO in Psychiatry
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and psychopharmacology
- Skilled in psychiatric assessment, risk evaluation, and treatment planning
- Ability to manage acute psychiatric presentations and safely prescribe and monitor medications
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and clear documentation skills
- Comfort working in secure settings with an emphasis on safety and professionalism
