Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality primary care to patients via telemedicine, delivering accurate assessments and evidence-based treatment plans
• Conduct comprehensive virtual visits including history, exam via telehealth techniques, diagnosis, and follow-up planning
• Coordinate care with patients and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring continuity and appropriate referrals when needed
• Document encounters thoroughly and timely in the electronic medical record following organizational standards
• Educate and empower patients on preventive care, chronic disease management, and self-care through clear communication
• Participate in quality initiatives and help improve telemedicine workflows and patient experience

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred
• Active California medical license or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
• DEA registration or ability to obtain a DEA number
• Experience or comfort providing care via telemedicine; strong virtual patient communication skills
• Ability to work Monday–Friday daytime schedule; dependable and professional demeanor

Education

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge in adult and preventive primary care
• Excellent virtual communication and patient education skills
• Comfortable with telemedicine technology and remote exam techniques
• Good documentation practices and attention to clinical detail
• Ability to collaborate with care teams and coordinate referrals

This is a temporary/registry telemedicine assignment based in Elk Grove. While you’ll be working remotely, when you’re in the area you can enjoy nearby attractions: explore Old Town Elk Grove’s cafes and shops, take a scenic walk or bike ride along the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta, visit the Sacramento Zoo and Old Sacramento waterfront, or take a short drive to Folsom Lake or the wineries of Lodi for weekend adventures.
