Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and provide evidence-based individual and group interventions.
• Deliver crisis intervention and stabilization services for patients in a correctional mental health setting.
• Develop, document and update treatment plans and clinical progress notes in a timely, professional manner.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — custody staff, medical providers and social services — to coordinate care.
• Provide consultations and recommendations to support inmate mental health, safety and rehabilitation goals.
• Participate in orientation and training, and model best practices for therapeutic engagement in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted license as a Psychologist in California, or licensure as LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC (PSYL/LCSW/LMFT/LPCC candidates considered).
• Experience working in mental health settings; correctional or forensic experience is a strong plus.
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks, fingerprinting and TB/immunization screening.
• Excellent documentation skills and familiarity with maintaining confidentiality in secure settings.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with interdisciplinary teams.

Education

• Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) for Psychologist roles; or Master's degree (MSW, MFT or equivalent) for LCSW/LMFT/LPCC clinicians as applicable.

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in mental health assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care.
• Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and treatment planning.
• Ability to work effectively within a correctional environment and navigate security protocols.
• Comfort engaging collaboratively with custody staff and other clinical disciplines.
