Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $127 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care evaluations and ongoing management for the patient population
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions with evidence-based plans
- Prescribe and manage medications responsibly, coordinating care with pharmacy protocols
- Perform thorough documentation in the medical record and complete required reports timely
- Collaborate with nursing, mental health, and correctional staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care
- Participate in orientation and training activities to onboard effectively to the facility workflow
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree and completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Active medical license in California or eligibility to obtain one promptly
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Comfortable working in a correctional facility setting; prior correctional experience is a plus
- Strong clinical judgement, excellent communication, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred
Education
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school; completion of residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, COPD, etc.)
- Proficient with electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
- Ability to triage and manage urgent issues in a constrained environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate with staff
- Understanding of formulary and controlled-substance policies in correctional settings
