Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment planning
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for patients in the psychiatric program
- Provide individual and group therapy using proven therapeutic modalities to support recovery and functioning
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Document clinical care thoroughly and timely to meet facility and regulatory standards
- Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and program development initiatives
- Respond to crisis situations with calm, competent clinical interventions and risk management
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist (PSYL / California license preferred) or ability to obtain state licensure
- Doctoral-level clinical training (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology is preferred
- Experience working in psychiatric or psychiatric program settings is highly desirable
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with patients and staff
- Background checks and facility credentials as required by the employer
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; master's-level clinicians with appropriate credentials will be considered where applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with psychological assessment tools and DSM-5 diagnostic criteria
- Experience delivering evidence-based therapies such as CBT and other relevant modalities
- Crisis intervention, risk assessment, and de-escalation skills
- Strong clinical documentation and time-management skills
- Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse patient populations
- Collaborative teamwork and effective communication with clinical staff
