Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment planning
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for patients in the psychiatric program
• Provide individual and group therapy using proven therapeutic modalities to support recovery and functioning
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document clinical care thoroughly and timely to meet facility and regulatory standards
• Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and program development initiatives
• Respond to crisis situations with calm, competent clinical interventions and risk management

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychologist (PSYL / California license preferred) or ability to obtain state licensure
• Doctoral-level clinical training (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology is preferred
• Experience working in psychiatric or psychiatric program settings is highly desirable
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with patients and staff
• Background checks and facility credentials as required by the employer

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; master's-level clinicians with appropriate credentials will be considered where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with psychological assessment tools and DSM-5 diagnostic criteria
• Experience delivering evidence-based therapies such as CBT and other relevant modalities
• Crisis intervention, risk assessment, and de-escalation skills
• Strong clinical documentation and time-management skills
• Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse patient populations
• Collaborative teamwork and effective communication with clinical staff
