Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostics for individuals in a psychiatric program
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and safety
- Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches
- Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments when urgent needs arise
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical and custodial staff, to coordinate care
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and case consultations
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
- Active California psychologist license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
- Experience working in forensic, correctional, or psychiatric program settings is highly valued
- Strong background in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychotherapies
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) required or strongly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Proficient with individual and group psychotherapy modalities
- Competent in crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Comfortable working in structured, security-focused environments
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
- Culturally competent, trauma-informed approach to care
