Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough psychological assessments and clinical evaluations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that make a measurable difference
• Deliver evidence-based individual and group therapy focused on behavioral health goals
• Provide crisis intervention and timely clinical decision-making when needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and case notes in the patient record
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Follow facility safety protocols and contribute to a secure therapeutic environment

Qualifications

• Active PSYL, LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW credential (PSYL/LPCC/LMFT/LCSW) as listed in the posting
• Clinical experience in mental health or counseling settings
• Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work in a correctional facility setting (KVSP - Kern Valley State Prison)

Education

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field (typical for roles listed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical counseling and mental health treatment approaches
• Psychological assessment and diagnostic formulation
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Group therapy facilitation and individual psychotherapy
• Clear, professional clinical documentation
• Cultural competence and trauma-informed care
• Ability to collaborate with custody and healthcare staff
