Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled speech-language evaluation and therapy to adult patients in a medical/correctional setting
• Design individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals
• Document progress clearly and timely in the medical record to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with nursing, occupational therapy, and other disciplines to coordinate comprehensive care
• Deliver evidence-based interventions for dysphagia, cognitive-communication, voice, and language disorders
• Educate patients and caregivers on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques
• Participate in case conferences and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• California Speech-Language Pathology license required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Active professional liability insurance (or ability to obtain)
• Comfortable working in a medical/correctional facility environment
• Strong clinical documentation skills and basic familiarity with electronic health records
• Reliable, professional, and a team player who values patient-centered care

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of adult swallowing and communication disorders
• Knowledge of evidence-based SLP interventions and standardized assessment tools
• Ability to develop clear, measurable treatment goals and progress notes
• Strong communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures in clinical settings
