Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations for adult patients in a correctional setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address clinical needs and safety
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions and crisis intervention as needed
- Collaborate with custody, medical, and behavioral health teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and required training during the assignment
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist OR licensed LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC (PSYL/LMFT/LCSW/LPCC credentials accepted)
- Must be able to complete one week of required training prior to full assignment start
- Experience or comfort working in correctional or forensic mental health settings preferred
- Current, active license in good standing with no restrictions
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility clearance requirements
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and crisis management skills
Education
- Doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD) in Psychology preferred for Psychologist roles
- Master's degree in a related field required for LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC clinicians
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Experience with individual and group psychotherapy techniques
- Familiarity with correctional environment protocols, safety, and custody collaboration
- Excellent clinical documentation and communication skills
- Cultural competence and ability to engage diverse adult populations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
