Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess nutritional status and create individualized nutrition care plans for patients
- Provide medical nutrition therapy and counseling to support patient health goals
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust plans based on clinical response and needs
- Document assessments, plans, and interventions accurately and timely
- Educate patients and staff on therapeutic diets, nutrition interventions, and best practices
- Support continuity of care through effective communication and care transitions
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (see Education)
- Eligible for or holding state licensure as required by the facility (California licensure preferred)
- Experience in clinical nutrition or hospital settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with clinical teams
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM for the contract period
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
- Completion of accredited dietetics supervised practice program and RD credential
Knowledge & Skills
- Medical nutrition therapy and clinical assessment skills
- Care plan development and nutrition-focused documentation
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Familiarity with therapeutic diets and feeding protocols
- Strong patient education and counseling skills
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and charting
