Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans for patients
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied health staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform nutrition assessments, document findings and update care plans in the medical record
- Provide therapeutic and routine nutrition counseling to patients and families
- Monitor and evaluate nutrition interventions and adjust plans based on progress
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to discharge planning
- Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with facility policies
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
- Current licensure or ability to obtain licensure to practice in California (as applicable)
- Proven experience in clinical or acute care nutrition preferred
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
- Completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program (or equivalent)

- Clinical nutrition assessment and care planning
- Therapeutic diet modifications and tube feeding management
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and case management
- Nutrition education and counseling techniques
- Accurate clinical documentation and regulatory compliance
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced inpatient setting
