Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality psychological assessment and therapy to adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health needs
- Lead and participate in a one-week training program (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM) to ensure consistent clinical practices
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans and ensure continuity of care
- Document clinical encounters, assessments, and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner
- Deliver evidence-based interventions and adjust approaches based on patient progress and facility goals
- Support program improvement efforts by sharing training insights and best practices with peers
Qualifications
- Active PSYL (Psychologist license) OR LMFT OR LPCC — PSYL/LMFT/LPCC candidates are encouraged to apply
- Active California licensure or eligibility to practice in California
- Experience working in substance abuse treatment or correctional/behavioral health settings is highly desirable
- Ability to attend the required one-week training (M–F, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM) prior to regular schedule
- Reliable professional references and ability to complete facility-required background checks
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (for Psychologist designation) OR
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy (for LMFT/LPCC roles) with required licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills for substance use and co-occurring disorders
- Proficiency in individual and group therapy modalities and treatment planning
- Comfort training and mentoring staff with clear communication and organized lesson plans
- Excellent documentation skills and familiarity with clinical record-keeping
- Collaborative approach to working with custody and multidisciplinary teams
