Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients in a psychiatric program
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support recovery and safety
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and contribute to treatment planning
- Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments when urgent situations arise
- Document clinical encounters and maintain accurate records in the facility system
- Participate in program meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology preferred; master’s-level clinicians with appropriate licensure may be considered
- Licensed Psychologist in California or ability to obtain California licensure in a timely manner
- Experience in psychiatric, correctional, or forensic behavioral health settings preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and psychotherapy skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Background checks and any required facility clearances consistent with correctional health employment
Education
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology preferred; master's degree with appropriate licensure may be acceptable
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in psychological assessment tools and diagnostic formulation
- Skilled in individual and group therapy modalities and evidence-based interventions
- Crisis management and de-escalation techniques
- Familiarity with treatment planning and documentation in EMR systems
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and deliver patient-centered care
- Cultural competency and trauma-informed care approach
