Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations accurately and efficiently
- Operate and maintain radiography equipment following safety protocols
- Ensure patient safety and comfort while positioning and preparing for imaging
- Follow radiation safety practices and maintain accurate exposure records
- Document procedures and communicate findings clearly with the care team
- Participate in hands-on orientation and training during the first week to become fully operational
- Provide professional, respectful care in a correctional facility setting at Pleasant Valley State Prison
Qualifications
- RADT classification (Radiologic Technologist) required
- Registry coverage experience preferred given the role reason of Registry Coverage - Vacancy
- Active state radiologic technologist license or equivalent required
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM for the assignment period
- Comfort with hands-on orientation and on-site training during the first week
- Professional communication skills and ability to work in a correctional healthcare environment
Education
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Associate degree preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of radiographic techniques and imaging principles
- Skilled in patient positioning and proper imaging protocols
- Familiarity with radiation safety and infection control practices
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot radiography equipment
- Good documentation skills and clear communication with clinical teams
