Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and provide clear, actionable reports
• Deliver individual and group therapy tailored to a forensic psychiatric population
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans that improve patient outcomes
• Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments in urgent situations
• Document clinical care thoroughly and maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
• Support program development and quality improvement efforts within the psychiatric unit

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychologist (state license preferred) or eligible for licensure in California
• Experience working in mental health or psychiatric settings, ideally with adult or forensic populations
• Proficiency in psychological assessment tools and evidence-based therapeutic modalities
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with clinical recordkeeping
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility security clearances

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; master’s-level clinicians with appropriate licensure may be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in diagnostic assessment and psychological testing
• Comfortable leading individual and group psychotherapy sessions
• Knowledge of psychiatric conditions common in correctional or forensic settings
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Crisis management and de-escalation techniques
