Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based mental health assessments and individual therapy for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders
- Deliver group and individual interventions focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and life skills
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement person-centered treatment plans
- Document clinical care clearly and timely in the facility records to support continuity and compliance
- Participate in training week activities to align with facility protocols and team expectations
- Support crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts as needed to maintain safety and therapeutic progress
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist (active state license) — or equivalent credentials accepted per facility (PSYL)
- Experience working in mental health and substance abuse treatment settings
- Comfort working Monday-Thursday daytime schedule with an initial training week Monday-Friday
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration within a multidisciplinary setting
- Willingness to pass required facility background checks and complete credentialing paperwork
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) preferred for Psychologist role
- Master's level degrees (MSW, MFT, or related) acceptable for other licensed clinician roles where appropriate
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of evidence-based therapy modalities for substance use and co-occurring disorders
- Skilled in clinical assessment, risk assessment, and individualized treatment planning
- Ability to lead therapeutic groups and individual counseling sessions
- Competent documentation and charting practices consistent with facility standards
- Familiarity with correctional or secure-care behavioral health settings is a plus
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
