Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for the incarcerated population
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address mental health needs and safety
• Deliver individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches tailored to correctional settings
• Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments, coordinating care with custody and medical staff
• Document clinical interactions and maintain timely, accurate records in accordance with facility policy
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support continuity of care and rehabilitation goals
• Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives within the mental health unit

Qualifications

• Current, active licensure as a Psychologist in California preferred (PSY). MCSP will also accept LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW for this order
• Experience delivering clinical services in behavioral health; correctional or forensic experience is a plus
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility credentialing requirements
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD) for Psychologist OR Master’s degree for LMFT/LPCC/LCSW — appropriate degree required for licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and assessment tools
• Proficiency in crisis intervention and risk assessment specific to correctional populations
• Skills in treatment planning, clinical documentation, and outcome tracking
• Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse, underserved populations
• Comfort working within secure correctional environments and following facility protocols
