Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy assessments and create individualized treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions to improve patient independence in ADLs
• Document progress clearly and promptly in the patient record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic care
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies, adaptive equipment, and discharge plans
• Monitor outcomes and adjust treatment plans to ensure measurable functional gains
• Maintain a safe, patient-centered environment and adhere to facility policies and regulations

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy license for New Mexico, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start
• NBCOT certification or eligibility preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required or must obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working across the continuum with adults of varied diagnoses
• Clean background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) or entry-level OTD required; relevant equivalent considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in standardized and functional OT assessments
• Strong clinical reasoning for ADL retraining, splinting, and adaptive techniques
• Excellent documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Effective communicator who engages patients, families, and the care team
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced setting
