Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to identify functional deficits and develop individualized OT plans
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to promote independence
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and physicians to coordinate patient care
• Document treatment plans, progress and discharge summaries clearly and promptly
• Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and home safety
• Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to maximize outcomes
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in Massachusetts or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT/MSOT/OTD) from an accredited program
• Experience in inpatient or post-acute rehab settings preferred
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with common EMR systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered mindset

Education

• Master's or entry-level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (MOT/MSOT/OTD) from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessments, ADL training and therapeutic activity planning
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics and mobility techniques
• Ability to create measurable goals and track functional progress
• Strong clinical reasoning and time management in a fast-paced rehab setting
• Comfortable collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and family education
