Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients to identify functional deficits and develop individualized OT plans
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to promote independence
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and physicians to coordinate patient care
- Document treatment plans, progress and discharge summaries clearly and promptly
- Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and home safety
- Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to maximize outcomes
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in Massachusetts or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT/MSOT/OTD) from an accredited program
- Experience in inpatient or post-acute rehab settings preferred
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with common EMR systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered mindset
Education
- Master's or entry-level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (MOT/MSOT/OTD) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in functional assessments, ADL training and therapeutic activity planning
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics and mobility techniques
- Ability to create measurable goals and track functional progress
- Strong clinical reasoning and time management in a fast-paced rehab setting
- Comfortable collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and family education
