Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations with accuracy and compassion
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment following safety and quality standards
- Position patients and prepare them for imaging while ensuring their dignity and comfort
- Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic system
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to support timely, patient-centered care
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility-specific procedures
Qualifications
- Valid RADT license (Radiologic Technologist) as required by state
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Comfortable working in a correctional facility environment and able to comply with facility requirements
- Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-focused demeanor
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field (or equivalent training and certification)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in radiographic procedures and patient positioning
- Solid understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Experience operating digital imaging systems and X-ray equipment
- Accurate clinical documentation and basic computer/EHR skills
- Ability to follow protocols, handle challenging situations calmly, and work collaboratively
