Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations to inform treatment planning
• Provide individual and group therapy tailored to the needs of a psychiatric inpatient population
• Develop and document evidence-based treatment plans and progress notes in the medical record
• Perform risk assessments and crisis intervention to maintain a safe therapeutic environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, psychiatry, and social work to coordinate care
• Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and policy adherence within the psychiatric program
• Supervise and mentor junior clinicians or trainees when applicable
• Engage with patients and families to support recovery, rehabilitation, and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; candidates with equivalent credentials considered
• California licensure as a Psychologist preferred; license-eligible candidates may be considered with clear pathway to licensure
• Experience working in psychiatric or forensic mental health settings is highly desirable
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning experience
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility credentialing requirements
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
• Master's-level clinicians with appropriate licensure or certification may be considered depending on facility requirements

• Treatment planning and progress documentation in electronic medical records
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology basics, and evidence-based therapies
