Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist with implementing individualized therapy plans under PT direction to help patients regain mobility and function
- Deliver therapeutic interventions such as gait training, therapeutic exercise, and functional activities
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately and timely in the medical record
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety strategies to extend gains beyond the clinic
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
- Ensure patient safety and maintain a clean, organized treatment area
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Hampshire or eligible for licensure
- Completion of an accredited PTA program
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or obtained upon start
- Prior experience as a PTA preferred but new grads from accredited programs are welcome
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic exercise, modalities, and gait training techniques
- Skilled in patient assessment and documenting measurable goals
- Ability to instruct and motivate patients and caregivers
- Familiarity with safety protocols and infection control practices
- Comfortable collaborating with PTs, nurses, and other rehab staff
- Good time management and organizational skills for efficient treatment sessions
