Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and mental health evaluations for patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and safety
- Provide individual and group therapy informed by evidence-based practices
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and other care team members to coordinate patient care
- Document clinical findings, progress notes, and treatment plans accurately and timely in the patient record
- Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
- Respond to crises and provide appropriate interventions to maintain a therapeutic environment
Qualifications
- Valid California PSY or PSYL license required or eligible to practice as a Psychologist in California
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
- Experience working with adult psychiatric or forensic populations is highly valued
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
- Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and documentation skills
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; master's-level clinicians with appropriate licensure may be considered based on facility requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and diagnostic formulation
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Individual and group psychotherapy modalities
- Behavioral health treatment planning and progress measurement
- Familiarity with psychiatric hospital workflows and safety protocols
- Clear written and verbal communication with patients and interdisciplinary teams
- Competency with electronic health records and clinical documentation standards
