Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and contribute to individualized treatment plans that restore function and independence
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions and assist with restorative programs
• Monitor and document patient progress in the medical record accurately and timely
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and injury prevention
• Perform safe transfers, gait training, and use of adaptive equipment
• Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, safe treatment environment
• Advocate for patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current Maryland PTA license or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
• Previous experience in outpatient, inpatient rehab, or similar settings preferred
• Strong documentation skills and comfort using electronic medical records
• Ability to work the scheduled days and adapt to a travel assignment

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic modalities, gait training, transfers, and therapeutic exercise
• Proficient in patient assessment, progress measurement, and care planning
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Team-oriented mindset with strong time management and prioritization
• Knowledge of safety, infection control, and documentation best practices
