Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function using evidence-based tools
- Develop individualized treatment plans that set clear, measurable goals and track progress
- Deliver skilled therapy interventions across diagnoses to improve communication and swallowing safety
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and family members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
- Document timely, clear, and compliant progress notes and discharge summaries
- Provide caregiver and staff education to support carryover of therapy strategies
Qualifications
- Current California Speech-Language Pathology license is required
- ASHA CCC-SLP is preferred and will be considered a strong plus
- Minimum clinical experience with evaluation and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders
- Experience in a rehab, skilled nursing, or acute care setting preferred
- Active CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia assessment and intervention
- Knowledge of AAC strategies and compensatory communication techniques
- Strong clinical documentation and goal-writing skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary rehab team
- Comfort with evidence-based practice and outcome measurement
