Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient functional abilities and craft individualized occupational therapy plans
- Develop and implement therapeutic interventions to improve daily living and independence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document progress clearly and timely to support quality outcomes and continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies and home programs
- Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to enhance safety
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discharge planning and care transitions
Qualifications
- Valid California Occupational Therapy license required
- Occupational Therapist credential (OTR) in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable floating to nearby facilities (Salinas and Kingsburg) as needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused attitude
- Previous experience in outpatient or rehabilitation settings preferred
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent professional OT degree)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in OT evaluations, treatment planning, and ADL training
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment and home safety modifications
- Proficient documentation and clinical reasoning skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with PT, SLP, nursing and case management
- Time management and caseload prioritization for efficient patient care
