Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient function and develop individualized occupational therapy plans
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and physicians to optimize patient outcomes
- Document progress and outcomes clearly and timely in the facility EMR
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies and home safety
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions back to the community
Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapy license in Washington or ability to obtain prior to start
- NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in rehabilitative care, acute or subacute settings preferred
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and team-collaboration skills
Education
- Master's or Doctorate (OTD) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (or equivalent accredited degree)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and intervention planning
- Experience with therapeutic modalities, adaptive equipment and mobility aids
- Ability to perform cognitive and functional capacity evaluations
- Knowledge of safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Comfortable working with interdisciplinary teams and family education
