Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled occupational therapy assistance under the supervision of an OTR to help patients regain independence
• Implement treatment plans and therapeutic activities that target functional goals and meaningful daily tasks
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting interventions and communicating outcomes to the care team
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, adaptive techniques, and safety strategies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care
• Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring a safe and effective therapy environment

Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Active state licensure or eligibility to obtain NH licensure prior to start
• Minimum clinical experience working in rehabilitation or outpatient settings preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused attitude

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or related field
• Current COTA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with ADL/IADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Skilled in therapeutic activity grading and patient positioning
• Knowledge of safety assessments, fall prevention, and home modification strategies
• Ability to follow treatment plans and accurately document progress toward goals
• Good clinical judgment, time management, and ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
