Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver skilled occupational therapy assistance under the supervision of an OTR to help patients regain independence
- Implement treatment plans and therapeutic activities that target functional goals and meaningful daily tasks
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting interventions and communicating outcomes to the care team
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, adaptive techniques, and safety strategies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care
- Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring a safe and effective therapy environment
Qualifications
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Active state licensure or eligibility to obtain NH licensure prior to start
- Minimum clinical experience working in rehabilitation or outpatient settings preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused attitude
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or related field
- Current COTA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with ADL/IADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Skilled in therapeutic activity grading and patient positioning
- Knowledge of safety assessments, fall prevention, and home modification strategies
- Ability to follow treatment plans and accurately document progress toward goals
- Good clinical judgment, time management, and ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
