Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals in a psychiatric/correctional setting
• Observe, assess and document patient behavior, mood, and response to interventions
• Assist with implementation of treatment plans and therapeutic activities
• Maintain a safe environment through proactive de-escalation and monitoring
• Communicate clearly and professionally with the multidisciplinary care team
• Participate in training and orientation to ensure smooth onboarding and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) credential
• Willingness to work weekend evening shifts (Friday and Saturday) and be flexible for 1-2 weeks of training
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong observational, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively within a team-based clinical environment

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a psychiatric technician program preferred
• Active LPT license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient observation and behavioral reporting
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Basic clinical skills and familiarity with psychiatric care routines
• Clear, concise documentation and communication
• Team collaboration and following care plans
