Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' functional abilities and create individualized occupational therapy plans
- Design and implement therapeutic interventions to improve daily living and independence
- Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust treatment plans responsively
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate holistic patient care
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies and safe home practices
- Recommend and train patients on adaptive equipment and home modifications
- Support safe discharge planning and continuity of care across settings
Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapy license in California (required)
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's or OTD preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Minimum clinical experience in rehabilitation or acute care preferred (1+ year ideal)
- Active immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong clinical documentation skills and proficiency with electronic medical records
Education
- Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (or entry-level OT degree)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and interventions
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and adaptive equipment
- Experience with neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation approaches
- Strong clinical reasoning and treatment planning abilities
- Effective communication and patient education skills
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
