Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate psychiatric care and observation to patients in a correctional facility
• Implement and follow individualized treatment and behavior plans under supervision
• Document patient status, interactions, and incidents accurately and timely
• Assist in de-escalation and safe intervention techniques when needed
• Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary team members and facility staff to support continuity of care
• Maintain safety, security, and professional standards consistent with facility policies

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) required
• Available to work the listed days: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
• Willingness to work per diem with daily confirmation/cancellation
• Ability to pass required facility background checks and complete orientation

Education

• Completion of an approved Psychiatric Technician training program or equivalent; high school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of psychiatric observation and reporting best practices
• Behavior management and basic de-escalation techniques
• Clear, professional documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a correctional healthcare environment
• Team collaboration and following directed care plans
