Shift Type: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM (Day). Note: Per diem coverage may also require Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM (Day) and shifts must be confirmed or cancelled daily.
Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-focused psychiatric care and observation in a correctional setting
- Monitor patient behavior and report changes to the treatment team promptly
- Assist with therapeutic interventions and support de-escalation when needed
- Document patient status, interventions, and shift notes accurately and timely
- Collaborate with nurses, mental health clinicians, and custody staff to maintain safety
- Follow facility policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) credential in California
- Ability to work per diem schedule and confirm/cancel shifts daily
- Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings preferred
- Valid CPR/Basic Life Support preferred or willing to obtain
- Pass required background checks and facility-specific onboarding/orientation
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited psychiatric technician program required
- Active LPT licensure in California
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong observational and documentation skills for behavioral health care
- Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention
- Familiarity with safety protocols in correctional healthcare environments
- Good communication and teamwork skills with clinical and custody staff
- Ability to manage time effectively across multiple patients and tasks
