Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to individuals in a correctional facility
• Perform thorough patient assessments, document findings, and develop appropriate care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely per provider orders
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the facility record system
• Follow infection control, safety and correctional facility protocols at all times
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to coordinate care and ensure continuity
• Adhere to facility security rules (cell phones are not permitted inside secure areas) and participate in required trainings

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Correctional nursing experience preferred but not required — we will support orientation
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a secure setting
• Must be able to pass background check, drug screening, and required facility clearances
• Comfortable working in a secure correctional environment where certain personal items are restricted

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
• Knowledge of infection control, emergency response, and de-escalation techniques
• Ability to follow strict security protocols and maintain patient confidentiality
• Good communication and collaboration skills with medical and security staff
