Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments and provide evidence-based interventions for patients in a correctional reception center
• Develop individualized treatment plans and document progress clearly and professionally
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure patient safety
• Provide crisis assessment and brief interventions as needed during weekend coverage
• Participate in orientation and training activities during the initial two-week onboarding period

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; master’s-level clinicians with appropriate licensure may be considered
• Active, unrestricted California psychologist license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Experience working in mental health settings; correctional or forensic experience is a strong plus
• Familiarity with psychological assessment tools, treatment planning, and documentation standards
• Ability to pass required facility background checks and comply with institutional policies

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; Master’s in Psychology or related field may be acceptable depending on licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Comfort working independently during weekend coverage with good clinical judgment
• Excellent written and verbal communication for clear documentation and team coordination
• Knowledge of evidence-based psychotherapy techniques and crisis intervention
• Cultural competence and the ability to work respectfully in diverse settings
