Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality primary care services including history taking, physical exams, diagnosis, and treatment
• Manage chronic conditions and coordinate longitudinal care plans for patients
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and implement evidence-based treatment plans
• Document clinical encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records
• Communicate clearly with patients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to institutional policies and protocols
• Educate patients about prevention, self-care, and follow-up to improve health outcomes
• Respond professionally to clinical issues and consult specialists as needed

Qualifications

• Active California medical license required or eligibility to obtain prior to start
• MD or DO degree and successful completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or equivalent
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Primary Care preferred
• Current Basic Life Support certification; ACLS preferred or as required by facility
• Prior primary care clinical experience, with experience in institutional or correctional settings considered a plus
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

Education

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge in adult primary care, preventive medicine, and chronic disease management
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard clinical documentation
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and manage a busy clinic schedule
• Excellent patient communication and cultural sensitivity
• Familiarity with clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice
• Comfort working in structured institutional environments and following protocols
