Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients using evidence-based speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans that support meaningful functional outcomes
- Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions and adjust plans based on patient progress
- Document clear, timely notes and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support carryover and discharge planning
- Participate in coverage and float responsibilities as needed to maintain continuity of care
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
- Active SLP license in Maryland or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or strong clinical experience in pediatric/adult rehab settings
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and ability to work autonomously
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in dysphagia evaluation and treatment as well as cognitive-communication therapy
- Comfortable with interdisciplinary collaboration and care planning
- Experience with documentation in electronic medical records
- Proficiency in assessment tools, therapeutic modalities, and adaptive communication strategies
- Ability to manage caseloads while maintaining high standards of patient-centered care
