Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient functional abilities and create individualized occupational therapy plans
• Deliver hands-on treatment and adaptive equipment training to maximize independence
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate holistic patient care
• Document progress and outcomes clearly and on time to support continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on home programs and safety to promote long-term gains
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy license in New Mexico or eligible to obtain one
• Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's or Master's; OTD a plus)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain promptly
• Experience in post-acute or rehab settings preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills considered
• Comfortable working a schedule that covers all days of the week and coordinating care across shifts
• Agencies must have a New Mexico caregivers account as noted in the order requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy required; OTD or advanced certifications a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessments, ADL training, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Strong documentation and clinical reasoning for measurable patient outcomes
• Good communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced rehab environment
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers with clear, compassionate instruction
