Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for adults in the behavioral health setting
• Administer medications safely and accurately in line with facility protocols and Prime pharmacology standards
• Use de-escalation techniques and CPI-trained skills to maintain a safe therapeutic environment
• Perform assessments, document care thoroughly in the health record, and communicate clinical changes to the team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Support patients and families with education, resources, and empathetic communication

Qualifications

• Current RN license (verifiable via Nursys)
• BLS certification required
• CPI and DCI/BVP certifications required or willing to obtain
• Completion of Prime Basic Pharmacology, Specialty, Core Competencies and Skills Checklist (or willingness to complete)
• Required health screenings and immunizations: 10-panel drug screen, TB testing/PPD or chest x-ray, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, fit test as applicable
• Prior experience in behavioral health nursing preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration
• Behavioral health assessment and intervention skills
• De-escalation and therapeutic communication techniques
• Comfort with Prime competency exams and skills checklist processes
• Accurate clinical documentation and electronic health record familiarity
• Ability to work collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team
