Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (8-hour) or 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (10-hour) Day shifts; plus one weeknight call per week (end of shift until 7:00 AM next morning) and three 24-hour weekend call days per month; rotating call responsibilities with a 15-minute call response time

Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub and provide sterile technique for cranial and neurosurgery cases, independently handling cranial procedures when needed
• Support orthopedic surgeries including total joint cases and orthopedic trauma with skilled instrument handling
• Respond to neuro-trauma call and provide dependable on-call support with a 15-minute response time
• Assist with a wide variety of cases including urology, ENT, spine, and trauma across an 11-room OR suite
• Use specialty systems such as DaVinci, MAKO, Stealth, and Scopis when cases require advanced navigation or robotics
• Document accurately in EPIC and communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative team
• Adhere to facility policies including strict fingernail/artificial nail rules to maintain patient safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience (per job posting)
• CST (Surgical Technologist) preferred but not strictly required
• BLS certification required
• Proven ability to scrub and independently perform cranial procedures
• Competent to take neuro-trauma call and manage orthopedic trauma and total joint cases
• Familiarity with EPIC charting preferred
• Willingness to be flexible, float, and work on-call nights and some 24-hour weekend coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong scrub and sterile technique
• Hands-on OR experience across general, orthopedic, neuro, ENT, and urology cases
• Cranial/neurosurgery support and neuro-trauma competency
• Orthopedic trauma and total joint procedure support
• Experience with surgical robotics and navigation: DaVinci, MAKO, Stealth, and Scopis
• Comfortable documenting and charting in EPIC
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and speak up for patient safety
