Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult respiratory and med-surg patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry to detect changes and escalate appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Perform timely assessments, document care accurately in Epic EMR, and communicate critical findings
• Float to similar med-surg areas as needed to support unit needs and patient volumes
• Maintain competency in telemetry strip interpretation and complete required competency checks

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing experience
• Proven ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips (Day 1 competency required)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR is mandatory — no Epic training or refreshers provided
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity respiratory Med-Surg environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Respiratory care for patients with pulmonary disease
• Experience with high-acuity med-surgical patient management
• Epic EMR documentation and workflows
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and interdisciplinary communication
• Adaptability to float to Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders
