Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (three 12-hour shifts per week, 36 hours/week). Varied start times; includes every-other-weekend coverage and holiday rotation. Shift times vary by schedule (12-hour day and night rotation depending on assignment).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume clinical chemistry testing accurately and efficiently on Ortho 5600 analyzers
- Run and evaluate hematology testing using Sysmex hematology systems
- Maintain quality control, document results, and troubleshoot instrumentation issues when they arise
- Support patient care by delivering timely, reliable lab results and communicating critical values appropriately
- Cover limited blood bank duties as needed while following established protocols and safety procedures
- Collaborate with lab staff across shifts, and occasionally float to the main lab if staffing needs require it
Qualifications
- Current MT or MLT certification (ASCP required) — must be listed on your resume
- Recent, hospital-based high-volume chemistry experience is required for consideration
- Strong generalist background with demonstrated competency in chemistry and hematology
- Hands-on experience with Ortho 5600 analyzers and Sysmex hematology systems preferred
- Familiarity with Beaker and/or SoftLab LIS strongly preferred
- Willingness to work varied 12-hour shifts, weekends on rotation, and holidays as scheduled
Education
- MT or MLT certification (ASCP required)
Knowledge & Skills
- High-volume clinical chemistry workflow and troubleshooting
- Hematology testing principles and Sysmex operation
- Experience with Ortho 5600 systems
- Exposure to laboratory information systems (Beaker, SoftLab) is a plus
- Basic blood bank knowledge for limited transfusion-related tasks
- Strong attention to quality control, documentation, and regulatory compliance
