Shift Type: Rotating mid-shifts including weekends; primary mid-shift options 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM; includes every other weekend; rotating day/night coverage
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage and rapidly assess patients presenting to the emergency department to prioritize care
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care for medical, surgical, and trauma patients
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the care team to develop and execute patient plans
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during stressful moments
- Document assessments, treatments, and changes in condition accurately in the medical record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain department readiness for emergencies
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Emergency Room nursing experience (position requires demonstrated ER experience)
- Active Registered Nurse license in Vermont or compact RN licensure as required by state regulations
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work rotating shifts including every other weekend
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of emergency assessment and triage principles
- Proficiency with IV starts, medication administration, and emergency procedures
- Familiarity with common ED workflows and documentation practices
- Comfort working independently in a Critical Access hospital setting
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and crisis management skills
