Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care and improve outcomes
• Assess, monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and vital signs; take decisive action when patients decompensate
• Mix and administer medications safely, including common drips and emergency meds
• Assist with respiratory interventions and intubation when needed, using equipment such as Bipap, Vent and Glidescope
• Start IVs and draw blood when indicated to expedite testing and treatment
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers and the care team to manage critically ill and trauma patients
• Provide compassionate care for a diverse patient population, including behavioral health and substance-related emergencies
• Document thoroughly and accurately in MEDITECH to support continuity of care and regulatory compliance
• Support department throughput by assisting with transfers and coordinating with radiology and other services

Qualifications

• Current RN license eligible for submission in the state of North Dakota
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (must be current)
• Preferred certifications: TNCC and NRP are a plus
• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency nursing experience
• Comfortable mixing medications and assisting with advanced airway/respiratory procedures
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and interpreting strips
• Familiarity with MEDITECH charting preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Active RN license in good standing (ADN/diploma or BSN acceptable). BSN is not required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Trauma care and stabilization techniques
• Cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation
• Respiratory equipment familiarity (Bipap, vents, high flow) and intubation assistance
• IV starts, blood draws and medication administration
• Ability to manage common drips (e.g., insulin, heparin, vasopressors)
• Time management, adaptability and crisis resource management
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
