Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with the hospitalist physician and interdisciplinary team for patient-centered care
• Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in a clear and timely manner
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Work independently with minimal supervision while supporting and mentoring colleagues when needed

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (able to practice in the assignment state)
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience (Med/Surg experience preferred and noted)
• Current ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Comfortable providing care for both adult and pediatric patients
• Able to work self-directed with minimal supervision in a rural hospital setting
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and time-management skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg nursing best practices and patient assessment skills
• Pediatric and adult care competencies
• Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy
• Effective communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings
• Experience working in rural healthcare environments is a plus
• Ability to adapt to a modern facility and contribute to workflow improvements
