Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate closely with the hospitalist physician and interdisciplinary team for patient-centered care
- Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in a clear and timely manner
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
- Work independently with minimal supervision while supporting and mentoring colleagues when needed
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (able to practice in the assignment state)
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience (Med/Surg experience preferred and noted)
- Current ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications (required)
- Comfortable providing care for both adult and pediatric patients
- Able to work self-directed with minimal supervision in a rural hospital setting
- Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and time-management skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Med/Surg nursing best practices and patient assessment skills
- Pediatric and adult care competencies
- Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy
- Effective communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings
- Experience working in rural healthcare environments is a plus
- Ability to adapt to a modern facility and contribute to workflow improvements
