Roles & Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the Behavioral Health unit
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and in accordance with hospital policy and state practice act
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately according to standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care, including patient and family education
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care
• Provide clinical guidance and support to other units/departments as needed
• Participate in department performance improvement activities and shared governance
• Apply critical thinking to promote patient safety and escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin RN license required
• Current CPR certification required
• Experience in Behavioral Health / Psychiatric nursing (demonstrated competence in medication administration and patient assessment)
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekend coverage
• Strong documentation skills and ability to develop individualized care plans
• Effective interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills
