Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care on an Acute Care Unit that blends Telemetry, Medical-Surgical and DOU patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and act swiftly on abnormal findings
• Manage IV drips and administer medications including non-titrating antiarrhythmics and rate control agents
• Deliver ventilator support care including BiPAP/CPAP and assist with chronic vent patients as appropriate
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists and pharmacy for coordinated patient care
• Serve in charge nurse duties when assigned, guiding the team and ensuring safe staffing ratios
• Accurately document all care and assessments in Cerner to maintain clear clinical communication
• Participate in unit orientation, floating assignments and ongoing education to maintain competency

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (required to submit)
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience, with Telemetry and/or MedSurg experience preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret ECG strips and perform telemetry monitoring confidently
• Experience with Cerner or similar EMR preferred
• Comfortable managing IV drips and basic ventilator modalities (BiPAP/CPAP)
• Willingness to float between MedSurg and Telemetry and work every-other weekend plus holiday coverage
• COVID-19 vaccination required per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and ECG/strip interpretation
• Medical-Surgical nursing practices and acute care assessment
• IV drip management and medication administration
• Basic ventilator support (BiPAP/CPAP) and working with respiratory therapy
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting
• Charge nurse skills: leadership, delegation and prioritization
• Strong communication, teamwork and patient education abilities
• Adaptability to float between units and manage varied caseloads
